Live

Four musicians, one DJ booth – live instruments on almost every track. We don’t want a crowd watching a stage – we want to be part of it.

Music is what keeps us together

Montezuma are four friends from Dresden who have known each other since they were thirteen. They started making music together as teenagers, and even when life scattered them across different cities, the music kept them together – today they are based in Berlin.

They call their sound Organic Fiesta Groove: born in organic downtempo, where the band made its name with four tracks passing a million streams each, it has grown into something faster and wilder – driving, hypnotic grooves at 138–145 BPM that still carry the warmth and melody of their roots.

On stage, saxophone, flute, electric and acoustic guitars and bongos trade lines back and forth, turning every set into a journey from mystical and hypnotic to an all-out fiesta. Strongly connected to Latin American and especially Brazilian music, Montezuma have released on Bad Boombox’s label Hot Meal Records, GRÜV and Mamatoldya, and have been featured on Spotify playlists such as Fresh Finds, Orgánica and Electronic Rising.

They have played Fusion, Sisyphos, Kater Blau and festivals across Europe, and hold residencies at Mahagoni Festival, 3000Grad and Samichay Festival.

With a lot of heart and passion, Montezuma always create a special vibe. Their latest single ‘Caravan’ is best described as ‘organic techno’ – 144 bpm meet bongos and saxophone.

Starting from our organic downtempo roots at 120–130 BPM and building into our hypnotic, high-energy 138–145 BPM sound. First performed at Fusion 2025.
